Casting Lines to Support Our Brave Communities
Heroes & Hooks was born from both personal experience and a heartfelt mission. Our founders are registered nurses who have seen firsthand the toll that trauma, burnout, and stress take on frontline heroes and their families. For our president, fishing has always been more than a passion — it began a way to connect with his father, a Vietnam veteran, who first taught him to cast a line as a child. Those moments on the water became a refuge for his dad, a place where the “noise” of the world faded and healing could begin.
We carry that legacy forward today by creating safe, restorative spaces where military service members, veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and their loved ones can reconnect, recharge, and find calm through the simple act of fishing. The importance of stress reduction, mental wellness and connections among those who serve and protect is paramount. This mission is personal — because we know what it feels like to need peace, and we know the power that can be found in nature, family, and community.

Want to make an impact with us?
Every cast, every ripple, every moment on the water makes a difference. Your gift helps provide fishing trips, family-centered outdoor experiences, and a lifeline of support to our heroes who have given so much — military, veterans, first responders, and healthcare workers.
When you donate, you’re not just funding a program. You’re giving peace to someone battling unseen struggles, connection to families who carry the weight of service, and hope to heroes who need to be reminded that they are never alone.
Together, we can create a safe harbor for healing, one adventure at a time.
